What To Go Looking For In A Towed Water Bowser.
Water bowser is the usual term give to a tank on a frame for transporting water on the highway or around a site. Water bowsers commonly have pumps and hoses to make better use of the water once you've arrived your site. If you would like your water bowser to last along time and give good service there are a few things to have a look for before you make your choice.
The chassis: This is mostly aframe trailer, simplest form is a flat bed with a solid board bed, a far better option is a galvanized steel trailer frame designed specially for the tank. Road going water bowsers should have suspension, inertia brakes, a jockey wheel to help man handle the bowser when not connected to the towing vehicle. A good frame will have a space for mounting pumps and other hardware.
The Tank: This should be as low a possible to have a lowest centre of balance which may aid with stability, typically made for rotational molded polyethylene or some older tanks are galvanized steel. To boost road manners further, the tank should be baffled to stop the water shifting and moving in transit. To make use of the water there should be an outlet, generally at the rear, and a 2" dump valve is a good addition to allow for a complete drain down and it makes cleaning the inside of the tank simpler.
Pumps etc... If the chassis has a plate for some apparatus then pumps, pressure washers or hose reels can be mounted, this is what makes the bowser very flexible. Pressure washers or jet cleaners are favored for contract cleaners, used to scrub graffiti, bubble gum and general street cleaning. Also well liked by builds, ship yards and car workshops. Low pressure pumps are very good for watering and irrigation for hanging baskets, golf courses and plant nursery's. And with a spray pattern nozzle these bowsers are very good of dust control.
Other equipment to look for are a stabilizer bar are the rear for when the water bowseris static and if the bowseris to go on the open road, make sure you have got road legal lighting and a number plate.
