Dollar Car Rental Makes Sense
Some people don't own a vehicle. Sometimes even car owners are without their car. It could be a vacation or business trip need. Some folks try to avoid long trips in their own car. It's a good way to avoid abuse. That's when Dollar car rentals are useful.
Consider this. You live in the suburbs. You work in the city. Your home is within a few blocks of the train station. A car would just sit around in a parking lot, so what have it? When you're working you can't drive. Run errands on Saturday. Go to Avis or Hertz for a car for the day. If a car is always needed, then by all means purchase. Maybe the kids need a lift to school each day, but the school bus isn't convenient for the family and it doesn't get them to sports practices and music lessons. Maybe the typical daily tasks and errands require more travel and carrying than would be workable on a bus or train schedule. Then it's like the song lyrics "Buy buy buy" a car. But renting for short use may be the better idea.
Companies pay for each mile employees drive. That cost is fifty cents per mile. That's $50 daily for a 100 mile ride. A car rental from Dollar or Budget auto rental is only $20 each day, plus $12 for a few gallons of gas is still only $32 for that same 100 mile day.
