Interesting Facts Regarding Korean Airlines
Korean Air Lines as one of the most respected passenger carrier services in the industry. This is South Korea's major airline and their main hub can be found in Seoul. Servicing around 50 different countries, they provide domestic and international flights. Providing both passenger operations and cargo hauling to international destinations, this airline does it all. In various areas of Asia, they have continued to expand their cargo hubs. This company is also involved in research and development in various areas within the aviation industry. Their primary mainstay is actually aerospace research within the Korean Air company. Korean Air, or KAL for Korean Air Lines, has over forty years of hard won experience that places them where they are today. There have been a high number of airlines which have had to put up with harsh conditions in many shapes and forms. KAL is not excluded from the rest, because they crashed in their early beginnings, twice, between the end of the 1940s and the beginning of the 1960's. For Korean Air's aviation management makeup, there are many decades of skill and practice. This company is placed at the top of the aviation industry participation because of their coupling with their knowledgeable steps toward cargo and aerospace examining.
In 2007, Korean Air had proof of 17,000 employees. At another point during the year, they revealed their intentions to participate in on-ground transportation railway lines. So they naturally designed a budget friendly carrier that is significantly reduced. One other aspect was to decrease the already tight security checks for internal, domestic flights with this newer offering. The solution for Korean Air is referred to as Jin Air and they initiated their operations during the summer or 2008. This is a subsidiary of the company and consists of appropriate range A300 and B737 aircraft.
Working with the aerospace industry, Korean Air has long been involved with manufacturing and research. This company will continue to expand this area which is a strong point for them. Creating a variety of licensed versions of aircraft, Korean Air Aerospace Division's research department continues to be strong. Two of their more well-known aircraft are UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters and the MD-500. They are also involved with similar licensed manufacturing projects for other types of military aircraft. As you can see, Korean Air has branched out into several other areas and provides various transport needs for the military. Early in the history of Korean Air, they became involved with cargo flights which is somewhat typical for airlines. Carrying cargo internationally is always in high demand and continues to expand. Transporting cargo is less costly than it is to fly passengers around the world. It is very worthwhile, therefore, for Korean Air to continue to do cargo flights. A new cargo hub has recently opened up in Central Asia that will be a service point between parts of Europe and Asia in 2010.
