The A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Chronograph; Classic And Timeless
A. Lange & Sohne's 1815 Chronograph in Rose Gold is a grand piece of horology history. Wearing it means journeying to that era wherein one can almost hear the whistle and steam of soot blackened locomotives chugging through the countryside. It was in this period that the founder of The German precision watch making industry was born.

The 1815 Chronograph in rose gold comes with black or red-brown hand-stitched crocodile strap and has a power reserve of 60 hours powered by manually wound Lange caliber L951.5 balance spring covered in 39.5 mm x10.8 mm rose gold case surrounded by brushed white gold bezel. The sapphire-crystal case back showcases one of the most exquisite and most beautiful chronograph mechanisms ever made.
One of the rare technical features is the flyback function, a device found only in very few chronographs. With one single push piece, the 1815 Chronograph ID: 10844 can be stopped and reset in the middle of an essential watch time measurement. And a new measurement is started as soon as the push piece is released again.
The 1815 Chronograph belongs to 1815 collection of A. Lange & Sohne which pays tribute to Ferdinand Adolph Lange, a man whose destiny was inextricably tied up with the events leading to and after 1815. Although born during turbulent times in Europe, Lange was able to grow up in peaceful times especially when during the Congress of Vienna, a new order was established enabling the industrial revolution to move forward.
There was an immediate demand for well-trained technicians and Ferdinand received excellent education at Technical Institute of Education in Dresden and apprenticeship with Court Clockmaker Gutkaes. An essential-watch man himself, Lange toured around Germany after his apprenticeship gathering knowledge and expanding his experience on timepiece making firmly establishing his place as the founder of German precision watch making industry.
