Don't forget to visit the Horseshoe Falls on your next Canada Holiday!
Although it is a very popular destination people don't always go to Niagara falls, they should do. Niagara Falls is directly on the border between America and Canada but it is spilt into two separate waterfalls.
The American Falls is on the American side of Niagara Falls and the Horseshoe Falls are on the Canadian side. The better looking and the more awe inspiring of the two Falls is the Horseshoe falls. In the shape of a “horseshoe” the Falls generate the same cloudy like mist that the Victoria Falls does in Africa. Thanks to these stunning waterfalls, Canada has been blessed with a large amount of money from the wold known tourist attraction. Canadian holidays have become much more popular since the Falls have been exploited.
You can travel right up to the Falls on a guided tour boat, just make sure that you are wearing some water proof clothing and it might be a good idea to take an umbrella with you as well. Probably not the best idea, but someone did think they might go rolling over the Horseshoe Falls. Annie Taylor got inside a barrel and went over the water fall in 1901. The items she used to make the barrel were Oak, Iron and she had a mattress to make it more comfortable. She was the first person to go over the falls in a barrel and survive as well, without many injuries. She was however quoted saying “I would caution anyone against this feat, I would rather stand at the mouth of a cannon knowing it was going to blow me up, than attempt another trip over the falls”.
These falls are amazing and truly stunning to observe and any trip to Canada deserves to go there. It is even possible to go cruising down the Niagara river and Alaska cruise have helped to accomplish this.
