Plate High Quality
Plate High Quality

We're building a garden shed with a concrete base. We have a high quality Western Red Cedar board...?
We have a good cedar board as the plate against the concrete. The concrete rises above the ground a few inches and has at least 6" of stone underneath. Wondering if we should have put something between the cedar and concrete? The exterior plywood also buts up against the concrete for 1/2" overhang...maybe should have had something between there too? Any thoughts appreciated!
I think you are fine as long as you have those few inches of clearance above the soil. I would recommend that you seal the bottom edge of the plywood that overhangs the cement. This will help prevent the plywood from wicking moisture which could lead to rot or delamination.
